Which dog breeds sleep the least?

There’s a lot to consider when choosing a breed, and your pooch’s sleeping habits is one important aspect among many others!

But if you’re an owner who likes spending time outdoors in all seasons, these energetic dogs may be right for you:

#1 Labrador Retriever

Energetic labrador breed that sleeps less

This breed is not only known for being great helpers and emotionally supportive dogs, but also very energetic. Labrador Retrievers are versatile dogs that love to play, work and learn new things!

Labrador Retriever pooches need about 80 minutes of daily exercise in order to keep their energy levels up, and they can make great jogging companions if you’re looking for a dog who will keep pace with you.

And this hard-working breed can adapt to many different living conditions, so they may be a good choice for you if you’re looking for an active dog that can also chill out with you!

#2 Boxer

Energetic dog breed - Boxer

This breed needs at least two hours of daily exercise in order to keep their energy levels under control: not enough activity can lead Boxers to get bored and start chewing or digging anything they can find!

They are known for being among the most playful breeds, which makes them excellent pets for energetic owners. Boxers are also very intelligent, so they can learn new things quickly and do well with owners who love to spend time training their pooches.

They are a very popular choice among families because they tend to be very protective, loyal –and great with children. Boxers are quite distrustful when it comes to strangers, so they are on-guard when you aren’t around, which makes them a great guard dog.

#3 Dalmatian

Active Dalmatians playing on the beach

This energetic pup needs around two hours of daily exercise –preferably in two distinct sessions! They were initially bred for long hours of running alongside carriages and keeping horses calm, and today’s Dalmatians still keep up with an active owner.

Their endless energy levels also make them great as jogging companions. They are devoted to the people who take care of them and are real owner-pleasers.

Therefore, Dalmatians require a lot of attention and affection from their owners: they are known for being one of the most affectionate dog breeds! Watch out for small children though, as they can get over-friendly and too energetic for young kids.

If you want a dog that will run alongside your bicycle or follow you on hikes through the woods, Dalmatians may be perfect for you!

This dog breed is a real people-pleaser; if you’re looking for a guard dog, a Pitbull might not be the best choice as they can get friendly with strangers too!

However, they are known to dislike other dogs. A lot of careful training is needed in order to get them to behave around other canines.

Another great thing about this breed is that they’re highly intelligent, so they learn new tricks quickly. Pitbulls are great for owners who love to spend time training their dogs, and want a companion that can keep up with them!

In order to keep their energy levels under control however, daily exercise is a must for this breed of dog: at least 2 hours a day, including 30 minutes of mental stimulation. German Shepherds do best with families that have large yards or live in rural areas –as they love to run around freely!

If you’re looking for a family dog who can keep up with you and your kids, the German Shepherd might be perfect for you. Just make sure to take them on long walks or runs every day –or they may get bored and start tearing down furniture in search of something fun to do!

Beagles can do well in most homes, even small apartments –as long as they get the daily exercise they need! If you do have a yard, Beagles will play happily outside for hours.

They are also known to be active and very stubborn companions: whenever they scent something interesting, they will go after it! Getting them to come back can be a challenge, as they are known to live life through their nose.

#7 Border Collie

Last but not least: Border Collies are the ultimate most energetic dogs! They. Just. Never. Stop. Ever!

It’s important to note however, that they are known as one of the most intelligent dog breeds –which means lots of training and mental stimulation will be required in order to keep them happy. If you want an incredibly active furry friend who can keep up with you and your kids, the Border Collie is perfect for you!

And if you’re looking for the perfect running companion, this breed may be your best bet! Just be aware that Border Collies require LOTS of energy from their owner –being athletic yourself might be the best only requirement you need in order to own this popular dog breed!
